TradeWinds is the world’s authoritative source for news and insight about the powerful, dynamic, and often opaque international shipping business.

We are seeking two experienced reporters to help build our file further as we push to serve our subscribers with the high value news, market insight and commentary they expect.

TradeWinds is part of DN Media Group, owner of Norwegian financial daily Dagens Naeringsliv and a portfolio of other specialist titles. We pride ourselves on high standards of independent journalism and have an ambitious growth strategy.

Recent years has seen shipping emerge from the shadows and onto front pages worldwide. The Covid lockdown supply chain crisis, the Suez Canal grounding, and Western sanctions against Russia have propelled shipping to the top of the global business and political agenda.

And now, with pressure to cut carbon emissions mounting and technology set to revolutionise operations, maritime business faces a dynamic period of change.

We are looking for creative, skilled, and self-starting journalists able to react to breaking news at speed, and craft insightful and engaging interviews and features.

Experience of digital editing and publishing, and constructive interpretation of analytics data will be an advantage.

Ability or aptitude to produce audio and video content will be welcomed, as would experience with live and online events.

Detailed knowledge of shipping markets is not essential, although business reporting experience around trade, commodities, technology, and finance would be an advantage.

We will consider applications from journalists in Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, and the Americas. Personal circumstances and location will be considered when deciding which of our five global offices the new hires will be based.
