DN Media Group welcomes James Lamont as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Baard Haugen.
Lamont brings 25 years of experience from the Financial Times, where he held senior editorial and board-level leadership roles. He joined the NHST board as a non-executive director in 2017 and has been closely engaged with the group’s strategy, publications and leadership since.
“DN Media Group’s ambition, culture and people impressed me from the start,” said Lamont. “I bring all my attention and commitment to DN Media Group’s mission, upholding the values of insight, integrity and courage to meet the needs of audiences in Norway and worldwide.”
Lamont’s international media expertise, forward-looking perspective and record for innovation come at an exciting time for Oslo-based DN Media Group, as the group strengthens its leading publications, invests in outstanding journalism, and builds multi-channel customer experiences deeply relevant to its audience’s information needs.
His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for media. Fast-changing geopolitics, market volatility and the accelerated advance of AI are intensifying demand for trusted, independent journalism, precisely the ground on which DN and the group’s global specialist titles have built their authority.
DN Media Group thanks Baard Haugen for his leadership and the solid foundation he leaves behind.
